TORONTO, Jan. 14, 2016 /CNW/ - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today joined CTV's THE SOCIAL at Bell Media's Toronto headquarters to tape a special episode set to air as part of Bell Let's Talk Day. THE PRIME MINISTER @ THE SOCIAL: A BELL LET'S TALK DAY SPECIAL will air in super simulcast on CTV and CTV Two on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at7 p.m. ET/PT and will also be available on the CTV GO app, and CTV.ca.
THE SOCIAL co-hosts Melissa Grelo (@melissagrelo), Lainey Lui (@LaineyGossip), and Traci Melchor (@stayfabulous) alongside guest co-host Wendy Crewson (SAVING HOPE) candidly discuss various mental health topics and policy with Prime Minister Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau), who also shares some of his personal experiences when it comes to mental health. The Prime Minister will also address questions from the studio audience.
"We need to learn to lean on each other and we need to know that the challenges around a wide range of things exist in all families, in all households, and in all workplaces," said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. "We have to be a lot better on how we listen and how we understand, but also how we facilitate getting real help. And that's where as parents, or as colleagues, or as bosses, we need to know it's not just fix yourself, it's not let me fix you. It's let's call on professionals, let's make sure you're getting the best help possible, and that is what we have to get more effective at."
"We are truly honoured to have Prime Minister Trudeau join us for this special episode of THE SOCIAL as we work to grow the discussion about Canada's mental health with Bell Let's Talk," said Mary Ann Turcke, President, Bell Media. "Mental health is a national priority. Canadians will experience an open, honest, and authentic conversation with our Prime Minister as part of our Bell Let's Talk Day programming on January 27."
