Pristine Power Inc. Provides Update on York Energy Centre

CALGARY, May 28 /CNW/ - Pristine Power Inc. (TSX: PPX) ("Pristine" or the "Company"), an independent Canadian developer and operator of electricity and steam generation facilities, today announced that the Ontario provincial government has commenced a public comment process concerning enactment of a regulation that would exempt the York Energy Centre project from the Ontario Planning Act. When such a regulation is enacted, the provisions of the Planning Act, including the requirement to obtain Site Plan approval, would no longer apply to the project. The project would also be exempt from the Township of King's recently enacted interim control bylaw for electricity projects. The proposed regulation is subject to a forty five (45) day comment period commencing today.

The York Energy Centre is a 393 MW natural gas fired peaking facility to be located in the Township of King under the terms of a 20 year peaking generation contract with the Ontario Power Authority. The Company holds a 50% interest in the project.
