Centre for Arts and Technology (CAT) is proud to announce a confirmed partnership between CAT and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). This partnership will allow CAT graduates the ability to continue their education at BCIT in pursuit of a degree.
KELOWNA, BC, June 28, 2018 /CNW/ - The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and Centre for Arts and Technology (CAT) have partnered to create the CAT-BCIT Pathway, a cross-institutional agreement enabling CAT graduates entry into the BCIT School of Business. This partnership will provide diverse educational pathway options to graduates from Centre for Arts and Technology and will create more well-rounded and skilled students. CAT Students graduating from one of a selected list of eligible programs within the last five years will be able to earn a BCIT Business Management Advanced Diploma and a Bachelor of Business Administration – areas that will further enhance CAT's creative education offerings.
CAT Programs offer focused students industry targeted training for careers in the digital arts industries and now students can choose to build upon this foundation by completing the CAT-BCIT pathway programs. Students who previously graduated within the last five years from one of the CAT programs listed below will be eligible to take advantage of this partnership as will all future graduates of these programs.

- Animation for Game, Film & Visual Effects
- Visual Effects for Film & Animation
- Graphic Design & Web Development
- Network Security Specialist
The BCIT Business Management Advanced Diploma is designed for students holding non-business diplomas, and degrees, and introduces students to vital business topics such as management accounting, economics, marketing, human resource management, and more. Lectures, discussions, and case studies will be the vehicles of instruction in this well-rounded program, producing disciplined and professional business management graduates. The Bachelor of Business Administration will further build upon diploma concepts and will enhance the skillset and career preparedness of its graduates, as they graduate with a BBA.
In addition to the benefits predicted for domestic students, international CAT students will also be able to take advantage of this opportunity. After completing BCIT's Business Management Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Business Administration, international students may apply for a post graduate work permit. This new pathway will encourage international students interested in studying in one of the CAT program areas above, to enroll, and then continue on at BCIT in either business program to garner a post-graduate work permit.
Centre for Arts and Technology delivers fully accredited certificate and diploma programs across a variety of arts and technology disciplines.
