Prix Gémeaux (French-language Gemini Award) for Best Children's Digital Production Awarded to a Production Distributed by Groupe Média TFO
TORONTO, Sept. 16, 2013 /CNW/ - Motel Monstre, a production distributed exclusively by TFO, has just won the Prix Gémeaux for Best Children's Digital Production at the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television's 28th Annual Prix Gémeaux Gala, held yesterday afternoon in Montreal.
Glenn O'Farrell, President and CEO of Groupe Média TFO, greeted the news of the award as follows: "Serving children and youth is a central part of TFO's mission, and we want to offer them leading-edge products that engage them, entertain them, and meet their needs, on our digital platforms as well as on television. We want to congratulate TFO's craftspeople and our partners, Slalom Productions and Mbiance Inc., whose expertise and creativity have now been recognized with the most prestigious award that the television industry has to offer."
Groupe Média TFO also congratulates all of its other production partners, whose efforts helped TFO to receive a record 22 Prix Gémeaux nominations this year.
Chief Marketing Officer Pascal Arseneau adds, "This award strikes just the right note for the launch of our new season—educational as always, but focused now more than ever on accessibility and mobility of content. Motel Monstre is a great example of a production designed from the bottom up for use on multiple platforms. It includes the television series, a mobile application, digital components, educational games and other activities for pre-teens. By making our content available through a variety of channels, we can get closer to our audiences and thus serve them better."
