Product Safety Bill weakened by the Senate, deeply regrets Option
consommateurs
We believe that this vitally important bill was modified because its opponents chose to present it as infringing on the civil liberties and interests of manufacturers and merchants, and not because of its primary objective, which is to establish a modern regulatory framework with respect to the safety of consumer products.
Supporters of Bill C-6 hope this is only a postponement, since the bill has been returned to the House of Commons to be discussed again, where it was passed unanimously last June.
