New EMR and PMS vendors on board with Canada's national e-prescribing service
TORONTO, March 20, 2018 /CNW/ - PrescribeIT™ is continuing to make significant progress in Canada with the addition of new electronic medical record (EMR) and pharmacy management system (PMS) vendors agreeing to participate in the roll-out of Canada's national e-prescribing service.
The new EMR vendors – Canadian Health System Inc.'s EMR Advantage®, KAI Innovations and Microquest Inc. will begin offering PrescribeIT™ to their customers in fall/winter 2018. They will join TELUS Health's EMRs PS Suite, which is currently offering the service in select communities, Med Access (available in spring 2018) and Wolf (available late summer 2018). PrescribeIT's PMS vendor list now includes QuickRX (available fall/winter 2018). Their participation adds to the PrescribeIT™ PMS roster that includes Kroll, which is also currently available in select communities. Discussions with other vendors are ongoing.
"We are pleased to be working with these EMR and PMS vendors," said Michael Green, President and CEO of Canada Health Infoway. "With their participation, PrescribeIT™ will continue expanding the reach of the service across the country and is well on its way to eliminating the use of paper prescriptions in Canada."
PrescribeIT™ launched in August 2017 in Huntsville, Ontario and has expanded to Kingston and the Niagara region in that province, and moved into Lethbridge, Alberta earlier this year. Infoway is continuing to plan for the further roll-out of PrescribeIT™ to additional communities.
Prescribers and pharmacists interested in implementing PrescribeIT™ and in helping plan its deployment can complete a brief survey. To learn more about the service, please visit our website at www.PrescribeIT.ca.
