Promotion of youth site TesAffaires.com - AMF teams up with comedian Philippe Laprise

MONTREAL, Nov. 19, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Autorité des marchés financiers (the "AMF") is teaming up with comedian Philippe Laprise to remind young people of the importance of taking care of personal finances and the availability of tools and advice on TesAffaires.com, the AMF's website for 17-22 year-olds.

A series of four comedy clips featuring Philippe Laprise will be aired on MusiquePlus, Vrak.TV, TELETOON and ZTélé up to April 28, 2013. Philippe Laprise caricatures various aspects of young people's financial lives, such as buying a car, acquiring a credit card, paying for education and choosing a first apartment. This initiative is financially supported by the AMF's Education and Good Governance Fund.

$1,000 to implement a project
Young people are invited to prepare a budget for implementing a special project at www.concourstesaffaires.comA. They will then have a chance to win a grand prize of $1,000 as well as an electronic tablet or a $250 gift certificate, capped by a guided tour of MusiquePlus. There will be two draws, one in January 2013 after the broadcast of the initial two clips and the other in April 2013 after the other two clips.

The AMF's TesAffaires.com site has undergone a major transformation over the past few months. It places more emphasis on young people's financial concerns and incorporates social media. Practical tips, financial calculators and budget examples are featured on the site, which also includes advice on moving to an apartment and personal financial management.
