Study finds 1 in 3 Canadians feel that their employer doesn't help them grow and expand their skills
TORONTO, March 19, 2019 /CNW/ - Available now, Prosper, a digital coaching service, has released the findings of a new study examining the attitudes of the modern Canadian workforce. According to the study, more than 1 in 3 Canadians (35%) feel that their employer does not provide them with the ongoing support needed to grow and expand their skills.
The study also found the number one work-related pain point among Canadians, following the job interview (25%), is dealing with conflict among colleagues (21%). With a gap in workplace skill development to handle these situations, the study revealed 1 in 2 Canadians would work with a career coach, if it was more easily accessible. To address this, Prosper launched an on-demand coaching app, giving members guidance and soft skill training to successfully navigate the modern workplace.
"We envision a world where professional coaching is available for everyone. The modern workplace is changing and navigating your career is more challenging than ever," said Krystyn Harrison, founder and CEO, Prosper. "We've taken coaching principles and combined them with skills training to help people reach their career goals. Whether it's discovering their purpose, preparing for interviews, building leadership capacity, or growing a business - our coaches are trained to help members strengthen their skills to advance their career."
Prosper's accessible pricing enables members to access personalized on-demand coaching for just $63 CAD per session, compared to the industry average of $150 per session. Without monthly membership fees, follow up sessions can be booked as needed, without a long-term commitment. For those looking to build a longer-term coaching relationship, the platform offers packages of multiple sessions. In a single coaching session via video call, members gain clarity and an action plan to work through what's on their mind. For those who are new to coaching, Prosper offers a free 15 minute intro session to experience what it's like to be coached and decide if that coach is right for them.
