Prostate Cancer Canada's Board of Directors Appoints New Chair
VANCOUVER, Jan. 30, 2013 /CNW/ - Prostate Cancer Canada (PCC) announces the election of Donald McInnes as Chair of the Board of Directors. Mr. McInnes has served on the Board of Directors since 2007, and previously held the position of Vice Chair.
"It is an honour and a privilege to be elected Chair of Prostate Cancer Canada's Board of Directors and to continue to show my commitment to an organization addressing a disease that's the most common cancer to affect Canadian men," said Donald McInnes, Chair, Board of Directors, Prostate Cancer Canada. "I look forward to working with the board and the executive team to help Prostate Cancer Canada reach its goals - to support research that will ultimately find a cure, to uncover better diagnostic and treatment options and to provide comprehensive support services for those living with prostate cancer." He went on to state "It is a personal goal of mine to help Prostate Cancer Canada become the most effective disease advocacy organization in Canada."
McInnes is the Executive Vice-Chairman of Alterra Power Corp., Chairman of the Clean Energy Association of British Columbia and a Governor of the British Columbia Business Council. He is a recipient of a Doctor of Technology honoris causa from The British Columbia Institute of Technology and received the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Pacific Division Cleantech category in 2011.
