Kids' Internet Safety Alliance Hosts 2^nd Annual Spring for Kids Gala

TORONTO, April 20, 2012 /CNW/ - On May 3, 2012, the Kids' Internet Safety Alliance (Kinsa) will host the second annual Spring for Kids Gala at Waddington's Auction House.

The Gala is Kinsa's largest fundraising event through the year, providing the organization with important funds needed to protect and rescue child victims of online abuse. Because the Internet works globally, so does Kinsa which educates police forces in multiple countries to track, identify and arrest child pornographers.

"The recent arrests of 60 Canadian men on charges of child pornography, exemplifies the need for immediate action and advocacy on behalf of the victimized children," said Paul Gillespie, former Toronto Police Sergeant and head of the Child Exploitation Unit. "Support provided by Canadian individuals and companies are fundamental to Kinsa's success and we thank each and every donor."

The black tie Spring for Kids Gala raises awareness and funds for the charity by bringing together Toronto's business and financial communities. Hosted by Gemini award winning journalist, Allison Vuchnich, the Gala will feature the Toronto culinary artists at North 44, and renowned Toronto chefs Brad Long, Corey Vitiello and Marc Thuet.

The evening will also include a live auction with unique items including a week-long trip to Capetown, South Africa, a 7-night stay at a private villa in the British Virgin Islands and a fabulous in-home dinner party for 10 catered by Presidential Gourmet and planned by Bassett Events.

This year's sponsors include The Entertainment Software Association of Canada, Microsoft, Bank of Montreal and Cisco. Generous contributions have also been made from a wide variety of companies and individuals including the Polar Foundation, Essence du Papier, Stikeman Elliott LLP, Canadian Tire, Mill Street Breweries and Hobbs and Company Wine Merchants.

All funds raised from the Spring for Kids Gala will go directly towards Kinsa programs.
