MONTREAL, March 22, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Fondation du maire : le Montréal inc. de demain is very pleased to announce that the provincial government has created a $15 million endowment fund to support its activities. As stated by Andrew Molson, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation: "By creating this fund, the Government of Québec recognizes that the Foundation is a key player in the deployment of the 2011-2014 Québec Entrepreneurship Strategy".
The fund, which involves the participation of the Government of Québec and the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, will help sustain the Foundation and its mission: investing in the start-up of businesses and providing expertise and services to young Montreal entrepreneurs.
"This matching fund will also become a new and very attractive tool when we solicit the business community to take part in our fundraising campaigns" added Liette Lamonde, Executive Director of the Foundation, which is 80% financed by the private sector.
Through its concrete actions on behalf of young Montreal entrepreneurs and its mobilized network of partners, volunteers and business people, the Foundation is helping build the Montreal Inc. of tomorrow.
