BOUCHERVILLE, QC, May 26 /CNW Telbec/ - PROXIM takes environmental protection one step further by offering its affiliated owner-pharmacists recyclable bottles for prescription drugs dispensed to patients.
These new plastic containers are 100% recyclable in most municipalities in Quebec. Two types of recyclable and interchangeable caps can be used with the bottles: a child-proof cap and a cap for people who have difficulty opening containers.
"Pharmacists use large quantities of medicine bottles which cannot be easily recycled. Considering our commitment to the environment, we had to find a solution. Our main supplier, Emballages Richards inc., developed a more environmentally friendly container," says Elyse Desmeules, Pharmacist and Manager of Professional Services at PROXIM. The bottles are manufactured in Quebec by Emballages Richards Inc.
PROXIM is a group of independent owner-pharmacists with almost 270 locations in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes.
