Public Invitation to Witness the Arrival and Departure of the Incoming Prime Minister of Canada and members of the 29th Canadian Ministry Français
OTTAWA, Nov. 2, 2015 /CNW/ - Members of the public are invited to witness the arrival and departure of the Prime Minister-designate and members of the 29th Canadian ministry on the grounds of Rideau Hall as of 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015.
The grounds will be accessible via the Thomas and Mackay pedestrian gates. Members of the public are asked to be in the designated viewing area no later than 9:30 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m. that morning, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will preside over the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Justin Trudeau, Canada's 23rd prime minister, and members of his new Cabinet.
Visitors waiting outdoors will be able to watch the ceremony on two screens located on the grounds.
This event will take place rain or shine and is expected to end at around 1 p.m. All visitors should dress appropriately and wear comfortable shoes as they may need to stand on the grass or on uneven ground.
For security reasons, no signs or large bags will be allowed.
Parking will not be available on-site. It is recommended to walk, bike, take a bus or a taxi, be dropped off or park on the neighbouring streets.
