Public Service Announcement - 8 Wing Trenton Public Affairs - Search and
rescue training in Trois-Rivières and Sherbrooke
TRENTON, ON, April 23 /CNW Telbec/ - Military search and rescue aircraft and personnel are conducting training in the vicinity of Trois-Rivières and Sherbooke between April 24 and 25.
A CC-130 Hercules aircraft with Search and Rescue Technicians aboard will arrive in Trois-Rivières at 10:30 p.m. Friday night and will conduct training with local SERABEC personnel on the afternoon of Saturday, April 24. On April 25, the aircraft and crew will conduct training out of Sherbrooke with SERABEC personnel there.
The training aim is to maintain and improve search and rescue skills of SERABEC personnel as well as maintain professional relations between Canadian Forces Search and Rescue personnel and SERABEC. The training will occur during daylight hours over predominantly sparsely or uninhabited terrain and is meant to create as little impact on local populations as possible.
