VALCARTIER GARRISON, QC, March 23, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - As part of Exercise LION INTREPIDE, more than 900 military vehicles will travel from Valcartier Garrison, near Quebec City, to Gagetown Garrison, in New Brunswick, between March 26 and 29.
Approximately 24 convoys, each made up of about 10 vehicles, will leave every day at 15-minute intervals. So as not to disrupt traffic, no military vehicles will travel between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. or between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
The vehicles will be transporting some 3,000 soldiers from Valcartier to take part in the training exercise in the Gagetown Garrison training areas from April 10 to May 9, 2012.

The southbound military convoys will alternate between Highway 369 and Highway 573. After crossing the Pierre Laporte Bridge, the vehicles will take Highway 20 East, then Highway 185 South to the Quebec-New Brunswick border. From there, the convoys will travel on Highway 2 East and on Highway 7 toward Saint John until they reach Gagetown.
Return: Gagetown Garrison to Valcartier Garrison, from May 4 to 9, 2012
Once Exercise LION INTREPIDE is over, the convoys will return to Valcartier on a similar staggered schedule, taking the reverse route.
