MONTREAL, Oct. 28, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - From October 26th to November 3rd 2013, military personnel from the 2nd Canadian Division will be trained in conducting Domestic Operations to assist Law Enforcement Agencies, in Montreal, Quebec and the Eastern Townships.
Some 900 soldiers will take part in the RÉACTION ROYALE exercise by assisting civil authorities a crisis situation in the Province of Quebec. Different actions may be observed to validate the security measures of military infrastructures of the Montreal and Saint-Jean garrisons, Farnham and Saint-Hubert sites, and the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Valcartier.
An increase in military activities such as road and troop movements, as well as helicopter flights is expected. Necessary measures have been taken to minimize the impact on the population and the environment
The main role of the Canadian Armed Forces is to protect Canadians. We must train with our government and civilian agency partners in peace time in order to be prepared to ensure the safety of Canadians.
