Public service announcement - Military exercise with assault boats on lakes Desvaux and Berthemet Français
ROUYN-NORANDA, QC, Oct. 26, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Approximately 20 reservists from 34th Combat Engineer Regiment detachment Rouyn-Noranda (34th CER det R-N) will conduct military training at Club Kiwanis on the borders of lakes Berthemet and Desvaux from 1 p.m. 26 October to 9 a.m. 28 October 2012.
This exercise is supported and authorised by local authorities. The military personnel will use blank ammunition and minor pyrotechnics. No impact on the environment is expected.
This exercise will allow military personnel from the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region to train their tactical and non-tactical waterman ship navigation abilities using assault boats. Beach assaults, raids and neutralisation of booby traps will also be practiced.
