Public service announcement - Signal soldiers in Montreal and vicinity

VALCARTIER GARRISON, QC, Nov. 20 /CNW Telbec/ - From November 23 to 27, 2009, about 100 soldiers from the Headquarters and Signals Squadron (HQ & Sig Sqn) will take part in a radiocommunication exercise in Laval and Longueuil, as well as on the Montreal Island.

Equipped with some 40 vehicles, soldiers will set up their mobile signals system in the concerned agglomerations in order to establish, quickly and efficiently, a signals network in an urban area.

Aside from a visible military presence in the aforementioned areas, the operations will have no impact on the daily activities of the citizens.

The role of the signals troops of the HQ & Sig Sqn, a unit from 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group in Valcartier (Qc), is to ensure the transmission of data between the commanders and the soldiers.
