Public Service Announcement - Vandoos to conduct patrol training in
Durham-Sud

VALCARTIER GARRISON, QC, Sept. 30 /CNW Telbec/ - About 30 military troops from 1 Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment (1 R22R), will take part in a two-day patrol training exercise, which will occur, on one hand, on October 1 , in the Sanctuaire de Beauvoir area northeast of Sherbrooke, and on the other hand, on the lands of Durham-Sud in the Drummond regional county municipality. This training's main objective is to allow soldiers to keep their rural environment patrol skills at their best possible level.

Training scenarios are to include patrolling by foot, reconnaissance, wounded personnel carrying and timed sand bag transport over a distance of one kilometre to name a few. Local population will under no circumstances be involved during these activities.

All movements will be performed using vehicles far enough from residential zones. No pyrotechnics or ammunition will be used during this exercise.

Also, given in appreciation, local residents are invited to attend a military vehicle and equipment exhibition, which will be held at Durham-Sud's old fire hall, located at 205, de la Caserne St., on October 2 , from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Exhibition will include:

    
    - 1 Light Armoured Vehicle;
    - 1 G-Wagon Patrol Vehicle;
    - 1 Heavy Logistic Vehicle Wheeled; and
    - Miscellaneous arms and pieces of equipment used by troops during the
      exercise.
