Purolator employees and customers give back in a big way
TORONTO, June 28, 2012 /CNW/ - With the 10th season of Purolator Tackle Hunger (PTH) well under way, teammates, partners and customers came together between June 4 and 8 in a joint effort to raise the equivalent of more than 387,000 pounds of food for local food banks across Canada- an increase of 20 per cent over its 2011 results.
"We are so proud of this achievement" said Ramsey Mansour, Purolator's Vice President of Marketing. "Our Tackle Hunger Week brought together 229 of Purolator's locations along with a number of our customers with a single goal in mind: to help alleviate hunger in the communities where we all live, work and play".
To help commemorate the 10th season of PTH, Purolator will also be donating 10 refurbished curbsider delivery vehicles to select food banks across Canada. After evaluating all the submissions in conjunction with Food Banks Canada, Purolator is proud to announce the following food banks as recipients of a refurbished Purolator delivery vehicle:
- Eden Community Food Bank - Mississauga, Ont.
- Feed Nova Scotia - Halifax, N.S.
- Regina & District Food Bank - Regina, Sask.
