Purolator launches national Purolator Tackle Hunger® Week campaign

From June 1 to 5, Canadians are encouraged to donate to local food banks online, in person and on social media

TORONTO, May 29, 2015 /CNW/ - Purolator's annual national Purolator Tackle Hunger® Week campaign will run from June 1 to 5, 2015, to help raise awareness about hunger and collect food and cash donations for local food banks across Canada.

"The Purolator Tackle Hunger Week campaign provides all Canadians with an opportunity to make a difference in their communities, not just in person but online and through social media," said Patrick Nangle, Purolator's President and CEO. "Together, we can help deliver the promise of a meal to the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who rely on food banks every month."

How Canadians can help tackle hunger in Canada:

1. Make an online donation to their local food bank at purolatortacklehunger.com.
2. Bring a food donation to any Purolator Shipping Centre.
3. Spread the word on Facebook and Twitter – Purolator will donate 1 lb. of food to food banks across Canada for every:
   • New Like of its Facebook page
   • Like or Share of its Tackle Hunger–related posts from June 1 to 5
   • Tweet using the hashtag #TackleHunger

Purolator employees are also doing their part to alleviate hunger during Purolator Tackle Hunger Week by hosting events across the country to raise food and funds for local food banks in their communities.
