NEW WESTMINSTER, BC, Dec. 7, 2016 /CNW/ - Holiday shopping is well underway and at this busy time of year, BC Safety Authority (BCSA) reminds British Columbians to use precautions and common sense to stay safe on elevators and escalators.
Most incidents on elevators and escalators that are reported to BCSA are preventable and can be attributed to user behavior. Some of the most common issues are falls caused by inattention or loss of balance; or injuries caused by clothing, footwear or shopping bags getting caught. Improper use of mobility devices or strollers on these devices also poses a risk of injury.
