PwC helps leading fashion industry companies achieve their ambitions by developing custom-tailored business plans and financial models
MONTRÉAL, May 29, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - PwC is proud to have taken part in the inaugural mmode forum, which was held yesterday at ALDO Group's Montréal headquarters. This event marked the culmination of an unprecedented effort by key fashion industry players from around the province. By helping to bring together so many leading names, PwC is honouring its commitment to foster the growth of Quebec's fashion industry.
This event also capped off an initiative launched in 2008 by key stakeholders from different segments of the Quebec fashion industry aimed at improving their industry's overall competitiveness and growth in the face of various challenges.
"Drawing on our presence in the industry and recognizing the skills and innovativeness displayed by so many local companies, PwC swiftly decided to help create the fashion industry metropolitan cluster. In our view, it was both necessary and appropriate to rally the participants around a common vision and to act as a catalyst for change by putting our governance, finance and strategic expertise to good use", said Alain Michaud, leader of PwC's Retail and Consumer practice.
"With PwC's support, mmode put together a set of relevant and effective strategies aimed at giving our industry the place it deserves at the international level, along with the ability for its members to achieve their goals. That means contributing to furthering the Quebec fashion industry's competitiveness and growth over time", said François Roberge, president of Boutique La Vie en Rose and honorary chairman of mmode.
"Along with PwC, many have reiterated their commitment to mmode yesterday. In the near future, we would all like to see Montréal once again sit at the top of the world's leading fashion cities. Back in 2013, Montréal ranked 48th behind New York (1st), Los Angeles (4th) and Toronto (32nd). Meanwhile, emerging cities such as Shanghai, Saint Petersburg and Cape Town are rapidly moving up the ranks", added Alain Michaud.
