MONCTON, NB, Dec. 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Eastern College has partnered with Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) to offer a new accounting program that will improve the payroll and pension employment need the Federal offices in New Brunswick are experiencing. The goal of the program is to provide students with specific training that will lead to a pool of graduates eligible for employment with the Federal Government in the field of pay and pension.
The new program Accounting and Payroll Administrator with Public Sector Compensation Administration will launch in 2015 at the Eastern College New Brunswick campuses. This program is an extension of the college's Accounting and Payroll Administrator program, with an additional 8 weeks of payroll and pension related content.
"Eastern College is pleased to be working in partnership with Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) on this initiative. Graduates will have a unique advantage when seeking employment in the public sector as they will have specific training for in-demand jobs in New Brunswick," said Stuart Bentley, Eastern College President.
The program content was developed by PWGSC and provided to Eastern (as one of only 4 institutions) to increase the efficiency of the federal public administration in regards to pay and pension.
