Q9 Announces Product Expansion Including Wholesale Capacity
TORONTO, July 28, 2015 /CNW/ - With a new market strategy in place, Q9 announces an expansion to its product lineup including the entry into the Canadian wholesale co-location market with 18 megawatts of available capacity, and new Cloud and Managed Service offerings.
Q9's first wholesale offering will be a world class, 1 megawatt turnkey pod that is immediately available in Brampton Ontario, within the Greater Toronto Area. "Today, Canada's largest co-location provider now offers the largest wholesale capacity in the country" said Karen Sheriff, Q9 Chief Executive Officer. "With this announcement and our other pending product launches, we are excited to demonstrate our continued leadership position and commitment in both co-location and new Cloud and Managed Services to meet the evolving needs of our customers in Canada."
Q9's national footprint, 40 megawatts of total capacity and industry leading SLA with 100% network and power availability provide both enterprise and wholesale customers the ideal location to host their mission-critical IT infrastructure or disaster recovery environments.
"Our available capacity will not only provide a home for both enterprise customers and the very largest, global data centre, wholesale clients, but is the perfect platform to launch our new Cloud and Managed Service offerings" said Strahan McCarten, Senior VP – Product Management & Strategy. "Next month, for example, clients will be able to take advantage of our new Elastic Infrastructure Service (EIS), a bare metal service offering which provides the financial benefits and flexibility of the Cloud with the performance and security of a dedicated Managed Service. EIS will be a natural fit for businesses looking for scalability and reduced capital intensity in their IT infrastructure going forward." Additional managed services will follow shortly afterwards.
McCarten added, "We don't dabble in this space - this is our core business and our goal is to maintain and extend our leadership position going forward."
