HALIFAX, March 30, 2020 /CNW/ - Susan Mullin returns home to Nova Scotia in July 2020 to join the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation as President & Chief Executive Officer, Lydia Bugden, Chair of the Board of the QEII Foundation, announced today.
"We are thrilled to welcome Susan Mullin back to Nova Scotia to take on leadership of the QEII Foundation at a pivotal time in our region's evolution," says Bugden. "Susan was the successful candidate after a national executive search over several months supported by Royer Thompson Management & Human Resources Consulting."
Mullin graduated from Mount Allison University in 1983 and has dedicated her 30-year career to leading successful capital campaigns, major gift and annual giving programs in the health and higher education sectors. She is currently President & CEO of Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, a full-service hospital serving York Region, Simcoe County and Muskoka in Ontario.
Mullin previously served for eight years as Senior Vice President of Philanthropy of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto. Susan received the Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Greater Toronto Chapter in 2010 for her contributions to the fundraising profession and breakthrough work.
Prior to CAMH, Susan served for five years as Vice President Development for York University, Canada's third largest university, during the creation of a new foundation and oversaw York University's 50th anniversary $200-million comprehensive campaign.
"I am excited to join the great team at the QEII Foundation and build on their great work serving the region," said Susan Mullin.
The CEO search is part of a succession process initiated by the planned retirement of the founding CEO of the QEII Foundation, Bill Bean, after 24 years of outstanding leadership. Bugden says she and the Trustees look forward to welcoming Susan to the community.
