QEII Health Sciences Centre leads the way in cervical detection with the acquisition of the LuViva® Advanced Cervical Scan
HALIFAX, Nov. 5, 2014 /CNW/ - CAN-MED Healthcare a division of the IMP Group of companies announced today that the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, NS has become the first major medical institution in Canada to purchase the LuViva® Advanced Cervical Scan. After successfully completing a clinical trial, and presenting results at an international medical congress, the Colposcopy clinic will begin using the LuViva® device to triage patients who arrive at the QEII Colposcopy Clinic with low grade abnormal PAP tests. The evidence from the trials shows that use of the device will help reduce the number of cervical biopsies. This leading edge technology is a great step forward in women's health as it will help to reduce patient stress, wait times and the discomfort associated with these procedures in a cost efficient manner.
