QHR's Medeo awarded first in Canadian Health Challenge for e-Visits
TORONTO, Jan 27, 2015 /CNW/ - (TSX-V: QHR) QHR Corporation announces that its virtual care software, Medeo, has placed first in Canada Health Infoway's (Infoway) ImagineNation e-Connect Impact Challenge e-Visits category of the Adoption Awards.
"It is a very poignant moment for QHR to receive an award that recognizes the forward-thinking nature of Canadian physicians and health professionals who are expanding how they provide care to their patients through our Medeo virtual care software," says Michael Smit, VP Marketing.
The Adoption Awards are one component of Infoway's e-Connect Impact Challenge that encourages health care providers to improve the quality of care through digital health solutions.
"We are very pleased to present this Adoption Award to QHR's Medeo. They are a leader in digital health, connecting physicians and patients in innovative ways that are exciting for the future of healthcare," says Hon. Dr. Hedy Fry, MP for Vancouver Centre.
A 2012 study by the Canadian Institute for Health Information found that 32% of Canadian adults reported they have experienced difficulty getting to their family doctor medical appointments. e-Visits provide Canadians access to a private secure two-way digital interaction with their health care provider.
To meet the changing needs of our health systems, QHR's Medeo software has also seen significant usage of its secure messaging technology, replacing the nonsecure email and text message communications that have also helped physicians create stronger relationships with their patients.
