New 16-storey building to include a hotel, commercial and office space
BROSSARD, QC, May 25, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - The Square at Quartier DIX30TM will soon boast a new 16-storey building that will house a four star hotel, with 160 rooms over 95,000 square feet, making it one of the top tier hotels on the South Shore, as well as a class A office space of 107,000 square feet and 10,000 of commercial space.
This latest expansion of the second largest shopping centre in Canada was announced by the co-owners and co-managers of the complex, Oxford Properties Group and Carbonleo.
Construction of the new building has just begun; the office component will be completed by summer 2017 followed by the hotel completion projected for spring 2018; it will be located along Highway 10 and will anchor the north corner of the Square. Sustainability will be a key element in the growth of Quartier DIX30; the new building is designed to LEED certification for Core and Shell.
The ground floor of the new building will include a restaurant of approximately 7,400 square feet, retail space and the hotel and office lobbies. Floors two through six will be office space. The nine upper levels will be hotel accommodations. A tunnel will connect the basement to the existing heated parking garage located on the west side of the building.
Quartier DIX30TM is located at the intersection of Highways 10 and 30. It is home to 310 stores, 53 restaurants, two live theatres, a cinema, an Alt hotel and 350,000 square feet of office space. The centre, which is anchored by Walmart, Canadian Tire, Cineplex and Rona, includes a wide range of exciting brands including Apple, Michael Kors, Williams-Sonoma, Hugo Boss, Lululemon, Zara, Anthropologie and Forever 21, as well as a number of unique tenants in Quebec such as Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and hr2 Holt Renfrew. This dynamic mix of retail, leisure and entertainment tenants help Quartier DIX30TM maintain higher than average dwell times, with 43% of shoppers coming from the key age demographic of 15-34 years old.
