QUÉBEC CITY, April 26, 2017 /CNW/ – Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
In order to create and market innovative products, businesses need to be able to rely on adequate resources. To this end, the Government of Canada is committed to supporting innovative Canadian businesses. A driving force of the economy, innovation is the key to success, generating growth that benefits businesses and communities.
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that Québec City Conference (QCC) has been granted $285,000 in financial assistance, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, for the organization and promotion of the Québec City Conference, to be held in Québec City from April 25, to 27, 2017. This conference will bring together some 250 or so representatives of venture capital funds, university research centres and incubators/accelerators.
Founded in 2004, QCC is a not-for-profit corporation that organizes an annual meeting, the objective of which is to broaden understanding of the major funding and capitalization issues faced by innovation‑intensive technology-based companies. The funding provided under CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) will allow QCC to coordinate the logistics and technical services associated with the conference, as well as marketing and communications activities.
CED is one of the six regional development agencies under the responsibility of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.
