Quebec Community Newspapers Association Announces Winners of its 2016 Better Newspapers Competition
POINTE CLAIRE, QC, June 6, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Quebec Community Newspapers Association held its annual Better Newspaper Awards ceremony at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites in Pointe Claire, Quebec, on Friday, June 3 2016.
The QCNA Better Newspapers Competition awards individuals and publications for outstanding achievements in journalism, photography, community newspaper production and sales. Categories range from best overall newspaper and best editorial page to best education story and best investigative story.
Winners of the association's premier individual awards are:
Danial J. Rowe, The Eastern Door – Paul Dumont Frenette Award
Lyle Stewart, the Nation, Lindsay Crysler Award
Cassandra Kerwin, Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph, Outstanding Photojournalism Award
Jim Bell, Nunatsiaq News, Bob Phillips Award – Best Editorial – (general)
