Quebec Employers Council names Michèle Bazin and Dominique Morval to its public affairs and communications staff Français
MONTRÉAL, Monday, March 31, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quebec Employers Council announced today the appointment of Ms. Michèle Bazin and Ms. Dominique Morval to the positions of Vice-President – Public Affairs and Senior Manager– Communications, respectively. Ms. Morval will assume her duties immediately and Ms. Bazin will take up her post on April 8, the day of the Employers Council's annual general meeting.
"Michèle Bazin and Dominique Morval are seasoned managers, and both of them have a solid and complementary background in diverse activity sectors such as strategic communications, business development, marketing, television production, publishing, public affairs, governmental relations and social media," stated Employers Council president, Yves-Thomas Dorval. "Their appointments to the Council's staff are timely, since the organization has just devised a new strategic plan for 2014-2017, which devotes particular attention to reinforcing dynamic and constructive communications with employers, government decision-makers and public opinion influencers."
Michèle Bazin has a long and prolific professional career in the areas of public affairs and governmental relations, in the public and private sectors and in consulting services. In addition to co-founding two public relations consulting firms (Bazin Dumas Dupré & Sormany and Bazin Larouche Sormany & Vigneault), Ms. Bazin has worked at Québecor as the general manager of its magazines division, and as Vice-President, Public Affairs, for the Juste pour Rire/Just for Laughs Group. She also served as the Communications Director for the president of the Privy Council in Ottawa. Until recently, Ms. Bazin was the Editor in Chief of Premières en affaires magazine. She is the author of four books and has co-written 250 scripts for television series.
Dominique Morval has an impressive track record in corporate communications, in both the public and private sector. She was the Communications Director of SNC-Lavalin for almost 10 years, and fulfilled similar duties at the Palais des congrès de Montréal during the convention centre's major expansion project. She was also the Public and Media Relations Director at Télé-Québec, and was in charge of external relations for the Montreal Urban Community Economic Development Office. Ms. Morval has a Master of Science in Administration, marketing option, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from HEC Montréal.
At this time, the Quebec Employers Council would like to recognize the outstanding work that was done over the last four years by our current Vice-President – Communications, Mr. Louis-Paul Lazure, who is leaving the Council for a well-deserved retirement. The Council extends heartfelt thanks for his involvement and contribution to the attainment of the ambitious objectives he set in developing the organization's 2010-2013 strategic plan, notably by implementing various measures to ensure a broader dissemination of the Council's stances and public interventions to government decision-makers and the general public.
The Quebec Employers Council brings together many of Quebec's largest companies and the vast majority of sector-based employers' groups, making it Quebec's sole employers' confederation.
