MONTREAL, Sept. 5, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - As the official voice of Quebec's Jewish community, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (the Centre) extends its congratulations to Pauline Marois and the Parti Quebecois on having been elected to form the newest government of Quebec.
CIJA commends all Quebecers for taking part in this important democratic exercise, which ushered in the historic election of the first female Premier of Quebec.
"Over the years we have established strong and open channels of communication between the Jewish community and the PQ, and look forward to continuing a respectful and constructive dialogue between the Jewish community and the new Marois government," stated Mr. Luciano G. Del Negro, Vice-President of the Centre (Québec).
"We would also like to pay tribute to outgoing Premier Jean Charest and congratulate Francois Legault and the Coalition Avenir Québec on their entry to the National Assembly. As well, we extend our congratulations to all candidates elected to the Quebec National Assembly and reiterate our commitment to continue to dialogue with all opposition parties. Finally, we thank all candidates for their commitment to the betterment of society for all Quebecers", he concluded.
