Quebec Winter Carnival - Google Canada celebrates the Carnaval
QUEBEC CITY, Feb. 8, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quebec Winter Carnival is pleased to announce that Google is honouring the Carnaval on its Google.ca homepage. In it, the Google Doodle gives a nod to Bonhomme, the King of the Festivities. Those who visit the Google homepage from across Canada will see Bonhomme's iconic tuque and arrow sash at the top of the page for 24 hours (until 11:59 p.m. tonight). The Google Assistant can also respond to various inquiries about Bonhomme and the Quebec Winter Carnival, whose 65th edition begins this evening.
"On its own initiative, Google chose to highlight the Quebec Winter Carnaval throughout Canada on February 8, the first day of the 2019 Quebec Winter Carnival. This demonstrates just how important Bonhomme and the Carnival are to Canadian culture! Bonhomme is now part of a very exclusive club," said Mélanie Raymond, chief executive officer of the Quebec Winter Carnival.
The Quebec Winter Carnival invites everyone to enjoy the Google Doodle before the end of the day. The Carnival organization also encourages anyone who has a device powered by the Google Assistant, to ask it "Ok Google, tell me something about the Carnival", "Ok Google, do you know Bonhomme Carnaval?", "Ok Google, how do you dance like Bonhomme Carnaval" or even "Ok Google, who's inside Bonhomme Carnaval?" Else, simply greet the Google Assistant with a heartfelt "Ok Google, Salut Bonhomme!" and see how it reacts.
