Quebecor Fund announces list of funded producers and distributors under its Film Production Assistance Program Français
MONTRÉAL, Feb. 15, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Following January 24, 2018 submissions, the Quebecor Fund Board of Directors has announced the names of the production companies and distributors whose projects will receive funding in the 15th round of the Film Production Assistance Program. The selected producers and distributors will share a total of $380,000 in funding. The two successful projects will be produced and distributed by the following Canadian companies: Attraction Images Inc., Productions Caramel Film Inc., Corporation ACPAV inc., Les Films Séville inc. and Maison 4:3 inc.
Quebecor Fund's Film Production Assistance Program seeks to capture synergies with all industry stakeholders in order to:
- support the production of Canadian French-language feature films;
- support multiplatform exploitation of feature films and, in particular, foster integrated marketing strategies with an interactive component, starting at the development stage;
- enable the creative / production team to produce a work as close as possible to its original creative vision;
- help recipients realize a return on investment in order to increase the Fund's impact.

FILM PRODUCTIONS:
Mafia inc.
- Producers: Attraction Images Inc. and Productions Caramel Film Inc.
- Distributor: Les Films Séville Inc.
The fact-based crime saga Mafia inc., a gritty depiction of the pernicious reach of the Mafia, written by Sylvain Guy and directed by Daniel Grou (Podz), tells the story of the conflict between the Gamaches, a family of tailors, and the Paternòs, a Montréal mafia clan.
Antigone
- Producer: Corporation ACPAV inc.
- Distributor: Maison 4:3 inc.
A social drama written and directed by Sophie Deraspe, loosely based on the play by Sophocles. Antigone, a young immigrant with a promising future, opposes the laws of men and remains true to her own sense of justice as she helps her brother escape from prison.
Quebecor Fund
Quebecor Fund was established through Videotron Ltd., which provides nearly $7 million annually in broadcasting distribution undertaking (BDU) contributions to the Canadian industry. Under its Event and Film Production Assistance Program, launched in September 2010, Quebecor Fund has granted 59 film projects and 14 event projects financial assistance totalling more than $11.1 million to date.
Quebecor Fund, a non-profit organization, is a private fund incorporated under the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act. The Board of Directors is responsible for all decisions pertaining to the Fund, including its priorities, and is entirely and exclusively responsible for its funding decisions. The next deadline for applications for funding under the Film Production Assistance Program is Thursday, May 31, 2018. The next deadline for submissions for the Television Production Assistance Program is Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
