MONTREAL, July 25, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - A passion for food and a commitment to help understand and better treat hereditary breast cancer by funding research – that's the goal of the Culinary Showdown, the first edition of a fundraising event and gala dinner that will bring together home cooks, amateur chefs and foodies. In this extraordinary challenge, culinary enthusiasts raise funds for a chance to cook alongside celebrity chefs in the same kind of "Chopped" style team competition that's usually seen on TV.
Mouth-watering recipes will become a reality on Sunday, October 29, at Arsenal Contemporary Art (Montreal), 2020 William St. On the menu is a Celebrity Chefs' School, to be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., before the showdown gets under way (6:00 to 11:00 p.m.).
Celebrity chefs like Tyler Florence, Kimberly Lallouz, Mark McEwan, Danny Smiles, and Michael Smith are excited about participating in an event hosted by Brad Smith of Chopped Canada in support of two incredible organizations joining in the event for the cause. The Jewish General Hospital provides general and specialized care of superior quality, with particular attention to safety and to maximizing all aspects of the patient experience. The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation is the only non-profit organization in the province devoted entirely to the fight against breast cancer, investing here in Quebec exclusively in research and innovation. Its mission for the last 20 years has also been focused on raising awareness and providing education and support to those affected by this disease and their loved ones.
