Two minutes adds up to $25,000 for 4.6 million Canadians living with arthritis
TORONTO, Oct. 12, 2012 /CNW/ - The Arthritis Society, in partnership with Pfizer Canada, is marking World Arthritis Day by launching the 'Quiz to Give' fundraising campaign. From October 12 - November 12, Canadians will have the power to raise $25,000 to help fund important educational activities by putting their knowledge of arthritis to the test through a two minute online quiz.
"Arthritis isn't always a visible disease," said Janet Yale, president and CEO of The Arthritis Society. "In spite of the 4.6 million Canadians, of all ages, affected by arthritis, there is an incredible lack of awareness and understanding. When you donate two minutes of your online time to complete the quiz, you're raising much needed visibility for arthritis and funding important educational activities that help improve quality of life for people living with arthritis."
To show its support for The Arthritis Society's mission of educating the public and improving the quality of life for Canadians, Pfizer will donate $2 to The Arthritis Society for each completed quiz. To further encourage Canadians to increase awareness, Pfizer will also donate an additional $2 when individuals share the quiz with family and friends.
"Pfizer Canada is proud to support The Arthritis Society and this important campaign," said Christian Roy, vice president, marketing, Primary Care Business Unit, Pfizer Canada. "Through the Quiz to Give campaign, Canadians will have the opportunity to learn more about arthritis and play a role in raising money to help fight a disease that affects millions of Canadians."
