MONTREAL, Feb. 14, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - For the 37^th year, from February 20-25, 2012, within the « Week of foot health - Semaine de la santé des pieds », the « Association des orthésistes et des prothésistes du Québec », invites the population to visit a foot orthotist or an orthotist, by appointment only, in order to receive a consultation.

Orthotist and foot orthotist evaluate the biomechanical condition of the patient, among others, issues of feet support, the limitations of the articular movements and the positioning of the structures in statics and for the cycle of the walking as well as the presence of loss of sensibility, in order to make recommendations. The orthotist and foot orthotist work in conjunction with the physician and under medical prescription.

The « Week of foot health - Semaine de la santé des pieds » is an annual activity which aims to educate the public on foot health. Orthotist and foot orthotist, member of the « Association des orthésistes et des prothésistes du Québec », are health professionals trained allowing them to estimate needs relative to apparatus of the human body having one or several physical limits, to conceive devices, to adapt, to modify or to adjust them.
