/R E P E A T -- Bonaventure Expressway: Complete closure towards the east
(Champlain Bridge) from August 20 to 23 and towards the west (Downtown)
during the night from August 22 to 23 at Exit 2/
LONGUEUIL, QC, Aug. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) wishes to announce the complete closure of the Bonaventure Expressway towards the east (towards the Champlain Bridge) at Pierre-Dupuy Ave. (Exit 2) from Friday, August 20 at 11 PM until Monday, August 23 at 5 AM (Scenario A). Note that two lanes out of three will be closed starting at 10 PM, Friday, August 20.
In addition, the Bonaventure Expressway will also be completely closed towards the west (towards Downtown) at Exit 2 from Sunday, August 22 at 9 PM until Monday, August 23 at 6 AM (Scenario B).
It is important to note that major paving work will be taking place on the Champlain Bridge towards the South Shore during this period. One lane will be open on the Champlain Bridge towards the South Shore, and two lanes towards Montreal. Motorists are asked to avoid this area and use either the Jacques Cartier or Victoria Bridge. Both lanes of the Victoria Bridge towards the south will also be specially opened during this weekend.
Detour roads have been planned for traffic in the construction area. Please consult our map (http://bit.ly/bplZzT) for the different closing scenarios.
Details of Scenario A:
Complete closure of the Bonaventure Expressway toward east (Champlain Bridge) at Exit 2 including:
- Closing of the Wellington St. on ramp
- Complete closure of Pierre-Dupuy Ave. under the Bonaventure Expressway
- Closing of one of two lanes on Pierre-Dupuy Ave. toward south and on Des Irlandais Street toward north
Details of Scenario B:
Complete closure of the Bonaventure Expressway toward west (Downtown Montreal) at Exit 2 including:
- Closing of the Mill St. on ramp (east side)
- Complete closure of Pierre-Dupuy Ave. under the Bonaventure Expressway
- Closing of one of two lanes on Pierre-Dupuy Ave. toward south and on Des Irlandais Street toward north
