CALGARY, March 16, 2015 /CNW/ - On Wednesday, March 18th, celebrate Calgary's role in taking action on local and global water issues by attending the city's largest World Water Day event at the Devonian Gardens in downtown Calgary.
The fun, free and family-friendly event runs from 4:30 – 7:00pm and is hosted by CAWST, Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology, a Calgary-based charity.
Take a stroll through the beautiful Devonian Gardens and be inspired by local youth who are taking action on water issues through CAWST's Youth Wavemakers program. Meet CAWST field staff and learn how the Calgary-based charity has helped 9.3 million people worldwide gain access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation through its work in 68 countries.
"This year's World Water Day event is particularly special for Calgary as we celebrate 10 years of CAWST Youth Wavemakers impacting local and global water issues," CAWST CEO Shauna Curry said. "We are also excited to share with Calgarians how their city, through CAWST, is changing lives around the world by helping people get safe drinking water."
