TORONTO, May 19 /CNW/ - Centennial College is hosting its sixth annual "Show and Shine" cruise day on Sunday, June 6, from 10 am to 2 pm at Ashtonbee Campus - Canada's largest automotive-skills training centre - in Scarborough.
Members of the public, along with Centennial graduates and employees, will be showing off their vintage, custom and tuner cars, trucks and motorcycles. Local new-car dealers will be displaying their performance and hybrid vehicles, as well.
New this year will be an expert panel presenting at noon, featuring Mohamed Bouchama of CP24's AutoShop and Alan Gelman of Newstalk 1010's Car Talk, who will answer questions about car shopping and automotive repairs, along with Centennial faculty. There's also a helpful women's car-care clinic on site.
The day will feature a barbecue, DJ and live band, gift bags, show prizes and plaques. Proceeds from a 50/50 draw will be directed to The Lesley Russell Scholarship, established to aid college students dealing with serious illness.
Show and Shine is free to the public, while vehicle exhibitors are asked to pay $10 (free t-shirts to the first 100 exhibitors). Ashtonbee Campus is located at 75 Ashtonbee Road, one block north of Eglinton Ave. East and Warden Ave.
