/R E P E A T -- DEATH OF JEAN-FRANÇOIS LEBRUN, A LEADING FIGURE IN
COMMUNICATIONS IN QUEBEC/
MONTREAL, Sept. 13 /CNW Telbec/ - It is with great sadness that NATIONAL Public Relations announces that Jean-François LeBrun, vice-president, died suddenly on Friday at the age of 58.
"The communications world has lost one of its leading figures. Jean-François had a passion for excellence that was a source of inspiration for his colleagues. He had only one way of doing things: well. A master of issues management, he shared his knowledge through teaching and served as a mentor to a younger generation of professionals who are now excelling in every area of public relations," said Serge Paquette, managing partner of NATIONAL's Montreal office.
During his career, Jean-François worked as a journalist in both the broadcast and print media, in management at Quebecor and the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, and as a public relations consultant. In 2002, he joined RES PUBLICA Consulting Group, for which he acted as managing partner of Cohn & Wolfe | Montreal, before being appointed vice-president at NATIONAL Public Relations.
Jean-François was an MBA graduate from Concordia University. He was a member of several professional associations, including the Quebec MBA Association, the Société québécoise des professionnels en relations publiques and the Canadian Investor Relations Institute. He taught at Concordia and the Université du Québec à Montréal, as well as mentoring several young communications professionals.
Jean-François was also closely involved in a number of organizations, such as the Mental Illness Foundation and Public Relations Without Borders.
Information on the memorial service will be provided at a later date.
