VANCOUVER, Sept. 23 /CNW/ - The Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia (CGA-BC) is pleased to announce that it will host 'Small Business is Big Business in B.C.', CGA-BC's MLA luncheon in Victoria on Monday, October 4. This annual event brings government, business and the CGA community together for serious and engaging discussion of some of our province's most pressing issues.
This year, to celebrate Small Business Month in British Columbia, the Honourable Iain Black, Minister of Small Business, Technology and Economic Development, will be the featured speaker at the exclusive luncheon where he will discuss what the province is doing to help small businesses in B.C.
The Minister will also be presented with the Small Business Roundtable's Fifth Annual Report, and he will address government's continued commitment to B.C.'s small business sector, and to the economic environment that sustains it.
The luncheon will take place in the Vancouver Island Ballroom at the Hotel Grand Pacific. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the lunch and presentation will be from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
As the province's largest professional accounting association, CGA-BC represents more than 14,000 CGAs and students. Members work in industry, commerce, government, and in public practice. The Association promotes the excellence of its members and advances the accounting profession through education certification and the protection of the public interest.
