/R E P E A T -- Honoré Mercier Bridge - Complete overnight closure postponed to the night of July 19 to July 20, 2014/

LONGUEUIL, QC, July 9, 2014 /CNW/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (PJCCI), (the Corporation), wishes to announce to road users that the Honoré Mercier Bridge will be COMPLETELY CLOSED to overnight traffic between Saturday, July 19 at 10:00 p.m. to Sunday, July 20 at 9:00 a.m. This closure was initially planned for Saturday, July 12 at 10:00 p.m. to Sunday, July 13 at 9:00 a.m. 

This closure is necessary to proceed with concreting operations in the crossover section between both directions of the bridge.

Road users are encouraged to use the Champlain Bridge as an alternative. The Jacques Cartier Bridge will be temporarily closed on Saturday, July 19, between 8:30 p.m. and approximately 11:30 p.m., for the fireworks presentation.

PJCCI also wishes to remind users that major work is currently underway on the federal section of the Honoré Mercier Bridge and will continue, day and night, for the next seven weeks, from June 20 to August 11, 2014, to replace a section of the deck and replace the expansion joints, install new bearings and proceed with paving and marking work.
