LONGUEUIL, QC, June 4, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) would like to announce that half the Honoré Mercier Bridge will be closed from Friday, June 6, at 10:00 p.m. to Monday, June 9, at 5:00 a.m. One lane will be open per direction while work takes place.
Please note there are no major closures planned during this period on the Champlain Bridge.
Details of the closures on the Honoré Mercier Bridge
- One lane open towards Montreal
- One lane open towards the South Shore
- Access ramp from La Prairie towards Montreal closed
- Access ramp from Airlie Street towards the South Shore closed
This closure was planned by the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) several weeks ago. In order to optimize this closure, JCCBI planned to carry out preparatory work in anticipation of major work on the Honoré Mercier Bridge that is expected to take place over seven weeks starting June 21 (please see the 2014 work plan for further details).
This closure will be carried out by JCCBI for the preparatory work planned and will be managed by them.
