Quebec's largest fundraising campaign to fight poverty will kick off on October 3

MONTREAL, Sept. 27, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Co-Chairs of Centraide of Greater Montreal's 2012 campaign, Lino A. Saputo, Jr., Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board of Saputo, and Louis Vachon, President and Chief Executive Officer of National Bank, as well as Michèle Thibodeau-DeGuire, President and Executive Director of Centraide of Greater Montreal, cordially invite the press to Centraide's March of 1,000 Umbrellas.

This event will mark the launch of Centraide's annual fundraising drive. More than 20,000 people-donors, volunteers, agency representatives and personalities from the private and public sector and trade unions-will proudly hold up their umbrellas to show their support for those less fortunate in our community.

	Date:	Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 11:30 a.m.
	Activities:	Centraide's March of 1,000 Umbrellas, followed by the announcement of the goal for Centraide Campaign 2012

TIMETABLE
11:30 a.m.	Participants assemble on McGill College Avenue (at the corner of Sainte-Catherine West). Personalities from all sectors will join community agency representatives, volunteers and donors. The team from the YMCA will warm up participants for the march.
11:45 a.m.	Interviews with Michèle Thibodeau-DeGuire, President and Executive Director of Centraide of Greater Montreal, and participating personalities (media tent, northwest corner of Sainte-Catherine and McGill College).
12:00 p.m.	The march begins: Kumpa'nia will lead the march accompanied by street entertainers and musicians.
12:20 p.m.	Arrival at the SNC-Lavalin grounds (De Bleury, adjacent to the Gesù Theatre) and announcement of the goal for Centraide Campaign 2012 (photo opportunities).
1:00 p.m.	End of the event: Individual interviews.

PHOTO PLATFORMS: Four raised platforms will be installed for photographers and camera operators wishing to take overhead shots of the march:

• Two on Sainte-Catherine Street at the southwest corner of McGill College Avenue
• One on Sainte-Catherine Street at the corner of Union
• One on the SNC-Lavalin grounds
