MONTREAL, Jan. 24, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Place Ville Marie is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012. To mark the launch of festivities to commemorate this jubilee year, Dany Gauthier, Senior General Manager, Ivanhoé Cambridge - Place Ville Marie, and Hélène Fotopulos, member of the Executive Committee of the City of Montreal responsible for culture, heritage and the status of women, are honoured to invite you to a news conference to be held on:

Also attending on this occasion to mark a milestone in the history of this building known affectionately by Montrealers as "La grande dame de Montréal" will be representatives of our partners in the 50th anniversary celebrations, as well as several key members of the architecture and urban planning communities.

There will be several announcements made during this news conference, including the organization of a contest for a time capsule to which the public will be asked to contribute, the launch of a fundraising campaign for the benefit of a charity and the announcement of the name of the artist chosen to create an anniversary artwork that will be erected on the Place Ville Marie esplanade as a gift to Montrealers.
