GATINEAU, QC, July 7, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau and Luce Dufault, performer, cordially invite media representatives to the grand departure held as part of the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau's Trek for Solidarity. The departure will take place at Place de la Cité in Gatineau on July 9 at 7:30 a.m. 32 experienced cyclists will join Luce Dufault to pedal the 300 km linking Gatineau to Boucherville with the objective of raising funds in support of children with cancer.

The departure will take place in the presence of:
- Luce Dufault, performer and spokesperson for the Trek for Solidarity held as part of the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau

- Jade Lambady, 5 years old, hero children of the Solidarity Trek

Pairing Based on Caring
Children with cancer will serve as the heroes of this event. Their involvement will make it possible to share stories of courage that attest to the importance of investing in research in the area of pediatric oncology. Five-year-old Jade, in remission following treatment for lymphoblastic leukemia, will serve as the heroine for the Trek for Solidarity departing from Gatineau.

About the Fondation Centre de cancérologie Charles-Bruneau
Over the last 25 years, the Fondation has invested $50 million in research and in the construction and development of and the acquisition of equipment for the Centre as well as three pediatric oncology units.
The Fondation is proud to have established these specialized facilities, which are better adapted to the needs of families, and it now intends to make the most of its investments in the development of the research.
Two objectives will serve to guide researchers: curing the 20% of children whose cancer is resistant to treatment, and improving the quality of life of children in remission so that they can achieve a true cure, free of side-effects and complications.
