/R E P E A T -- Jacques-Cartier Bridge - Île Ste-Hélène Access Ramp (entry and exit) Closed for 7 Nights Towards Montreal/ Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, June 22, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) is informing motorists that the access ramp enabling both entry and exit to Île Ste-Hélène from the Jacques-Cartier Bridge towards Montreal will be completely closed to traffic from 10 PM to 8 AM the night of Tuesday, June 26; Wednesday, June 27; Thursday, June 28 and Friday, June 29, as well as during the night of Tuesday, July 3; Wednesday, July 4 and Thursday, July 5 - a total of 7 nights.
The access ramp to Île Ste-Hélène by the Jacques-Cartier Bridge towards the South Shore will remain open during this period, allowing for access to the island at all times.
This work will enable the start of the repairs on all piers on this ramp. During this roadwork, road users wishing to go to Île Ste-Hélène are asked to use a detour road through the City of Montreal in order to access Île Ste-Hélène from the Jacques-Cartier Bridge towards the South Shore. Those wishing to leave Île St-Hélène from the Jacques-Cartier Bridge towards Montreal will be asked to use a detour road through Longueuil to return to Montreal.
The closures on this access ramp have been scheduled during weeknights, not during fireworks evenings, in order to reduce the impact on road users.
The sidewalk and bike path on the Jacques-Cartier Bridge will remain accessible during these closures.
