/R E P E A T -- Jacques Cartier Bridge: complete closure of bike path from South Shore to Île Ste-Hélène for two weeks/ Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, Aug. 29, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) wishes to advise cyclists that the multipurpose path on the Jacques Cartier Bridge will be completely closed from île Ste-Hélène to the South Shore from Sunday, September 7 to Sunday, September 21 to complete important work.
During the closure, the temporary wooden decking will be replaced by a permanent and paved access, a new signal structure will be installed, and fence installation will be completed.
The closure should mark the last phase of work required to reconfigure the geometry of the Boulevard Taschereau West exit and rehabilitate the southern approach of the bike path.
During the work, cyclists can take the detour route using the sidewalk on the east side of the bridge. The section of the bike path from Montréal to Île Ste-Hélène will also stay open.
For additional information on work and closures, visit the pedestrians and cyclists section of the jccbi.ca website.
